Smartphone pertama dari Sony yaitu Sony Xperia ion ambil bagian meramaikan pasar smartphone. Dengan prosessor dual core 1.5GHz, GPU Adreno 220, dan RAM berukuran 1GB, Sony Xperia ion menggunakan sistem operasi Android 2.3 Gingerbread. berbagai fitur yang ada dalam smartphone ini cukup menarik antara lain layar dengan ukuran 4.55 inch type LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors dan resolusi 720 x 1280 pixels membuat smartphone ini lebih enak di lihat.
